Challenge - More than 100,000 searches of ROD
records are performed by the public each year. As such, major
problems with slowdowns and backups to the government computer
system were making it less than reliable. At times, it was
not unusual for the system to be down two to three times a
week. When a software vendor and the County IT department
couldn't come up with a solution, ROD contacted SSR, which had
already been working with Milwaukee County on a number of IT
projects.
Solution - SSR engineers conducted a full-scale
study of ROD, examining hardware, the software system and
conductivity issues. They took a close look at the ROD business
process, came up with a design for the system and how to implement
it. After working with the application team on the changes, SSR
then turned the computer environment back over to the county for
network support and to reduce the cost of the program.
Results - The computer outages that once
happened two to three times a week are no longer an issue.

to even look elsewhere. The result is a system that now runs
flawlessly."
